Not every conversation needs an account.
NyChat is built on a simple conviction: communication should be defined by the present moment, direct access, and clear boundaries—not by permanent digital identities.
You create a room, share a secure link, speak freely, and move on. When everyone leaves, the room store is cleared. No signup forms, no profiles, no permanent searchable archives.
Every conversation has become a permanent record.
Modern communication platforms were built to maximize user retention and data accumulation. That creates unintended friction for everyday exchanges.
Identity Overload
Simple ad-hoc chats force you to trade phone numbers, create usernames, or connect persistent social accounts.
Data Outlives Context
A quick coordination chat from six months ago remains indexed in cloud servers forever, long after its relevance ended.
Ambiguous Boundaries
Vague marketing promises often hide where server visibility starts and where true client encryption ends.
A room can be enough.
Instead of building around profiles, friends lists, and channels, NyChat builds around the room. Direct, isolated, and self-contained.
A single room hosts the complete interaction space. No friends list, no channel clutter, no user profiles.
Select a capability to inspect its exact technical boundary.
Messages are encrypted directly in the browser before transmission. The room key lives in the URL fragment and never hits the server.
The principles behind the product.
How we think about digital privacy, data longevity, and engineering honesty.
Temporary can be intentional
Not every conversation deserves a permanent record or a search index.
Permanent digital archives transform candid, spontaneous human exchanges into liabilities. Creating a dedicated room that dissolves when everyone leaves lets conversation happen naturally in the present moment.
Privacy requires explicit boundaries
No buzzwords or vague promises—just exact, verifiable cryptographic limits.
Text is encrypted client-side with AES-256-GCM so the server only relays ciphertext. Media is protected by temporary, revocable capability tokens. WebRTC calls flow peer-to-peer between browsers. We specify exactly what the server sees and what it cannot read.
Access should be self-contained
The room invite carries everything needed to enter and unlock.
Instead of authenticating against global accounts, access is room-scoped. The room code identifies the space, and the URL fragment key provides client-side decryption material without ever transiting to our servers.
Software should explain itself honestly
Clear limitations build more trust than exaggerated marketing claims.
We do not claim 100% untraceability or impossible security. Operational metadata is kept to route traffic and mitigate abuse, and participants can always screenshot what they see. Stating real boundaries is the foundation of genuine respect.
Clarity on what we do not do.
Trust is built by what a product admits. Stated clearly up front.
Direct, intentional room-based communication.
- Direct, room-scoped messaging and media sharing
- Client-side AES-256-GCM encryption for text
- Peer-to-peer WebRTC voice and video calls
- Temporary session presence with no persistent profiles
- Transparent, fail-closed access control via secure URL fragments
What NyChat does not try to be.
- A social network or contact-discovery graph
- A cloud archive or permanent chat history vault
- A promise of absolute anonymity against compromised devices
- A platform that sells data, shows ads, or tracks you across the web
- An emergency broadcast or critical dispatch infrastructure
Built with explicit boundaries.
Privacy is not a marketing catchphrase. It is an architecture of verifiable technical boundaries.
What NyChat Protects
Text messages are encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM before transport. Room encryption keys live in the URL fragment (#) and never reach our servers.

NyChat canonical product specifications
NyChat at a glance
- Product Type
- Web-based temporary real-time communication platform for group chat, media sharing, and live calling.
- Account Requirement
- Zero account requirement. No registration, email address, phone number, password, or persistent profile needed.
- Room Access & Decryption
- Access is controlled via room links. The room code identifies the space, while the URL fragment (#) carries client-side key material.
- Text Encryption
- Client-side symmetric encryption using AES-256-GCM via native Web Crypto API. The relay server cannot read message plaintext.
- Media & File Security
- Uploads (10 MB images, 20 MB files) are protected by temporary capability tokens scoped to active room peers.
- Data Persistence & Purging
- Temporary in-memory storage. When all participants leave a room, active messaging data and session state are destroyed.
Authoritative constraints: up to 15 participants per room, 8 on voice, 4 on video.
